What is the RoHS standard?<\/b><\/h2>\n
RoHS stands for Restriction of hazardous substances directive in electrical and electronic equipment 2002\/95\/EC, is a Directive on the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, adopted by the European Union in October February 2003 and entered into force on 1 July 2006, and is required to be enforced and become law in each Member State.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
RoHS standards are issued to protect people and the environment from harmful substances in electrical and electronic products. This standard aims to limit the use of 6 harmful substances in the manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment. It is also closely related to the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive 2002\/96\/EC (WEEE) which sets targets for recycling and recovery of electrical goods and is Part of a legislative initiative to help tackle the bulk of hazardous substances from e-waste.<\/span><\/p>\n
